WORLD FRIENDSHIP DAY; 30TH OF JULY

From friends to pen friends and then chat friends — the times are changing but not the meaning of friendship.
If Social Media platforms has reduced or increase the intimacy in friendship, we cannot say for sure as the level of trust, confidence and confidentiality of human personal lives has been below the generally acceptable line.

Young adults, especially high school and university students, still go as far as going to stores to buy friendship bands and small nick-knacks.

It is presumably because people are becoming tech-savvy and their prefer to send a e-card to a card through post,”
Twitter, Facebook are preferred to wish friends over gifts and cards,”
Why spend money when you can send scraps, e-cards and emails? My friends know how much I love them. So, no point showing my feelings on a particular day.”

Digital  communication modes such as the Internet and cell phones may be helping to popularize the custom, since greeting friends en masse is now easier than before
The idea of friendship has been around for thousands of years. Sometimes, friendship can be even more fulfilling than a familial or intimate relationship. This is because friends aren't forced to be with you, sticking with you because they want to, rather than out of obligation. Because of this, friends may be able to provide you with better support and understanding, clearer communication, and a level of loyalty that is positively unmatched.

"If you choose bad companions, no one will believe that you are anything but bad yourself." - Aesop, Aesop's Fables

Studies have shown that friends are a great form of stress relief. When a person has healthy friendships, he or she is less likely to succumb to illness and disease or, conversely, is more likely to heal faster when he or she does get sick.

Staying true to our friends is staying true to ourselves, our friends are a  reflection of us, and they watch out for us, and we should also from time to time watch out for them, take out time to wish that friend of yours Happy World Friendship Day, take time to see how you can get better, get to love your circle, complement and appreciate them today!!!
